Panasonic, manufacturer of the fully rugged Toughbook computers, has another cutting-edge product in its lineup—the Panasonic Arbitrator Body Worn Camera (BWC). The BWC, used in conjunction with in-car video systems, evidence management software, and fixed surveillance cameras, creates a complete, unified system that accurately and effectively captures evidence as needed and then safeguards and stores it for later review. Today, we’re going to talk specifically about the Arbitrator BWC—what it is and why public safety officers need it.
What is the Arbitrator BWC?
The Arbitrator Body Worn Camera is an innovative device that allows easy recording of audio and video at the touch of a button. This new body worn camera is the third (and most improved) mark of their body worn solution. It is designed to be even more rugged and has a longer battery life so that it can be utilized to the fullest extent on the streets. According to Panasonic, this system captures evidence on the go to prevent bias. Information recorded is tamper proof so all evidence may be admissible in court.
Why do you need it?
The Panasonic Arbitrator BWC offers a large selection of options in video and photo resolution. The camera can record evidence in the three most popular resolutions—1080p, 720p, and 360p—with the best clarity possible to be admissible in court and to help the judge and jury see clearly what happened in a situation.
Why is it better?
According to State Tech, the Panasonic Arbitrator has a new and improved battery life due to the innovative charging method. The Arbitrator BWC can also be configured to trigger recordings wirelessly based on connection to light bar, G-Force Trigger, or weapon lock release. This feature also allows you to synchronize recordings with installed Arbitrator 360 in-vehicle system.
Seamless Integration
The integration with all of the other items included in a complete evidence system makes this body worn camera a breeze to use and keeps all information safeguarded.
Evidence Management Software
The Panasonic SafeServ Evidence Management Software is an integral part of the unified evidence management system by Panasonic. This software manages evidence, allows users to export it to courtrooms for trial, and protects it all throughout the chain of custody so there is no loss of information on any level. You can also store your evidence in the cloud, locally, or with a hybrid storage system that combines both.
In-Car Video System
The Arbitrator 360-degree in-car video system allows viewing of the interior from all angles in high quality video. It operates under low light conditions and can be zoomed in remotely to capture images of a person in custody. The wireless microphones can record audio and transmit it to the receiver from up to one mile away from the vehicle.
Fixed Surveillance Cameras
The Arbitrator BWC also works with Panasonic fixed surveillance cameras to create an even more comprehensive system. The entire integral system combines video and audio from all of these different types of cameras (in separate locations) to allow easy management and accurate coverage.
