In our last article, we covered size and performance specifications of the new Toughbook 33 laptop computer. Today, we’ll tell you about some of the best mounts and docking stations for transporting your Toughbook safely in your “mobile office.” These systems will hold your Toughbook securely in place in a convenient location so you can see and use it easily while on the move.
Floor Mounts
If your console area is fairly small or you’d like to conserve as much space as you can inside your vehicle, consider a pedestal floor mount for your computer. The base can attach to the floor or the passenger’s seat studs. The height can be adjusted to the exact level you want it. Various vehicle-specific options are available for cars, vans, and trucks. You can also choose to install a universal floor mount that works in most vehicles.
Docking Stations and Cradles
Docking stations and cradles attach directly to your pedestal system or vehicle console to keep your tablet or computer securely in place in a convenient location. This equipment offers maximum visibility and fast utilization when you need it. If you’re looking for something to reliably hold your computer with a keyboard and additional electronics, such as a printer, choose a docking station. Cradles are great for simpler configurations—mounting a tablet or laptop alone.
Vehicle Dock Adaptors
Do you already have a vehicle dock for a Toughbook 31 and don’t want to have to spend money on a new one? Don’t worry—you can use your current dock for your new Toughbook by dropping in a vehicle dock adaptor (VDA). If you do want to upgrade, you can; mounts specifically built for the CF-33 are also available.
